A Word in Pictures

Ok, so here is the thing. I DID THE WRONG WORD FOR THIS MONTHS POST! HA! Seriously, where is my brain?!?! This month was supposed to be "Moments" and I was really excited about that one.. but maybe because of the lovely spring weather we have had I thought it was NEXT month's word..."new"! I wish I had a good excuse or explanation but I don't...so just bear with me ;-) Maybe next month I will do "moments"....

 I love spring. I love how the earth just proclaims newness, freshness, and life. We have been so thankful to be able to enjoy the beautiful sunshine outside together. We have already been on many walks and visited several parks and are looking forward to more in the months to come!

Something about a sweet little boy in a hat just makes my heart melt! 

 (Oh, Ev... this face...lol)

One of his favorite things to do is "blow raspberries" (which that term doesn't even make sense to me, but I can't very well describe it another way in text ;)) and this is the cute little duck face that comes with it! Love it!

A Word in Pictures: Kitchen

This months "A Word in Pictures" post kind of snuck up on me... and with two sick kiddos this week, my procrastinating tendencies have left me in trouble! But instead of just pulling out this month, I thought I would just do some searching through pictures and compile some of scenes often seen in my kitchen, some more recent than others :-) I guess it's the daily norm moments that would most accurately define this for me, anyway! Enjoy!

A Word in Pictures:: Messy

According to Webster's...

Messy: marked by confusion, disorder, or dirt

Well, if you ask me, according to that definition motherhood can be pretty messy! Please, don't misunderstand me... I love motherhood! I love being mom. I love my two little munchkins more than I could have ever imagined. But there are times, more than I am willing to admit, that I feel like my days are marked by confusion, disorder, and dirt. (Once summer comes and we spend most of our days outside, I am sure the dirt will be all the more plentiful) :-)

But lately, here is our messy...It's funny, because I normally would never desire to post pictures of my messy house, but right now, this is what my life is & I want to remember the messes.

To remember the ridiculous amount of toys everywhere that just have to be dumped all over the floor...

Remember the messy stained shirts and dried booger-y noses...

 Remember the random pen marks found on a little face...   (especially when you have no idea where/when they got a pen.)

Because, years down the road when there are no more messes, I am sure a part of me will be longing for these days. And these sweet, messy faces!

A Word in Pictures:: Winter

A new year, a new photo project! Last year the friends in our blog circle did the "10 on 10" project where we posted 10 photos on the 10th of every month... This year we are giving something else a shot! It will be monthly, on the last day of every month, and called "A Word in Pictures." This month's word is WINTER! The beauty of this project is each one of us can interpret and portray the same word in our own unique way! (Disclaimer: Usually the Word in Picture posts won't have these many words-ha!)

 Well you think winter would entail pictures of snowy fun: sledding, snow men, snowballs, tiny snow boots....but not for me! We actually have NOT gotten outside to play in the snow yet! When there was a good amount of snow on the ground it was either below zero with the windchill or we were busy and not able to get out...BUMMER! I really hope to get out and play with Ev next time it does snow!

That being said, my take on "Winter" will be a bit different.... With the weather being yucky here in Northeastern Ohio, it feels like we've basically been stuck inside for months with no end in sight! Yikes! So I am trying to be really creative with mixing things up at home...so here is a sneak peak at some things that we do to keep entertained while cooped up inside!

 Playing with, sorting, and scooping dry pasta

 One of her favorite (not mine!!) things to do... "Wash dishes"... aka make a watery mess everywhere!

Reading books. Lots & lots of books.

 Playing with play dough (which I blogged about here)

 Playing grocery store...

 And Evelyn LOVES to paint... LOVE LOVE LOVES it.

 We like to make music....

 And just having fun being together!!
And if you haven't noticed...another perk to being stuck inside is that all day bedhead it totally acceptable!
